What is the Philippine Blog Awards?
The Philippine Blog Awards (PBA) is a yearly event that aims to give recognition to outstanding Filipino blogs and bloggers. The PBA started in 2007 and is on its third year.
What is new with the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards?
The 3rd Philippine Blog Awards will be on the 9th of 2009 at Megatent,Ortigas, Pasig and within the month also in selected venues in Mindanao and Cebu. Aside from new categories the theme for the 2009: Philippine Blog Awards would be One Blogging Nation.
When and where is the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards?
For 2009, the Philippine Blog Awards will be held at the Megatent on October 9, 2009 and other venues in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Do I have to pay a nomination fee to enter the Philippine Blog Awards?
No, All you have to do is to fill-up the nomination form.
Who are the people and organization behind the Philippine Blog Awards?
This event is organized every year for the past three years by the Philippine Blogger Awards Inc, a non-stock and non-profit organization composed of Filipino Bloggers.

Can I join the Philippine Blog Awards?
A blog / blog post / blogger in order to be considered should satisfy the following conditions.
1. It must be Filipino owned
2. It should not be a blog that belongs to a publishing or media groups.
3. Blogs that focuses on the Filipino and the Philippines (ie Filipiniana) can join the Foreign Blog category.
4. For the Best Blog Division: The blog must have been established before June 1, 2009.
5. For the Special Awards Division: The nominee and blog for the award must at least have been established, introduced, and blogging before June 1, 2009.
6. For the Top Ten Post for 2009(Now part of the Special Awards Division): The post/videocast/podcast must have been been published before June 1, 2009. Only one post per blog can be submitted.
7. Submitted blogs and post should contain the necessary authorization to use the images, audio, text and other content.
8. Philippine Blog Awards Founders, officers and members of the Philippine Blog Awards Board of Directors, their blogs, blog projects, posts, videocasts, photos and podcats they worked on are automatically disqualified from being nominated.
Who can nominate?
Only the owner/blogger of the blog can fill up and submit the nomination form.

Who will win?
All candidates or entries will be subjected to a two tier selection process. The first phase of judging will determine the top ten finalists for each category.
From the finalists another round of judging will determine the winner.
Pleas note there will be categories wherein the winner will be decided by a vote.
How will the participants be judged?
Judging will be based on the following general criteria (unless otherwise stated as in the case of the Special Awards Division – categories like Blog of Year Award is determined by vote whereas the other categories are evaluated by a panel of judges and the Ten Best Posts for 2009 which will be judged on content):
Content – 80%
The post itself and all its totality from the headline to the manner and style of writing is considered. Content and how the content was presented is critical. It is the total package, from the headline to the grammar and even to the effective use of images and sound, that is considered. Content for content sake is not enough it must be told in a manner that effectively conveys the idea and leaves an imprint in the readers’ mind.
Design and Usability – 20%
This refers to aesthetic and usability features of the blog. Not only should it look pretty but it should also be functional and stress free to navigate within. Is it pretty and user-friendly.
Who are the judges?
Judges will be selected from within and outside the Philippine Blogging Community renown in their particular field of expertise.
When does the nomination period start and end?
Nominations will start July 8, 2009 and end on August 13, 2009 at 11:59PM (Manila Time).
