Award Divisions
The Philippine Blogging Community has grown by leaps and bounds within a year. This diverse universe of ideas represented in words, images and sounds have gave birth to more types of blogs and new bloggers. As such the Philippine Blog Awards 2008 has widened and re-organized its awards to better reflect the zeitgeist or spirit of the times.
The Philippine Blog Awards 2008 will have three awards division and these are the following:
This division recognizes this years best blogs. A blog has grown from being a web log to different niche blogs and different forms: podcasts, video blogs and photo blogs. As such the Philippine Blog Awards has expanded the awards for blogs to more accurately depict the growing diversity and richness of the Filipino Blogging Community.
The Best Single Blog Post Division
There are times when a single post of a blog is so powerful that one never forgets it or one is inspired by it. Such is the power of that one post. And this 2008 the Philippine Blog This is the new Single Blog Post Division. It is divided the same way as with the Blog Division.
The Philippine Blog Awards continuing in its goal to recognize the exemplary in the Filipino Blogging Community has brought back and expanded the Special Awards. This division has been separated from the other divisions due to the following: (i) The criteria for judging is specialized and (ii) the nature of selecting the winner is different from the first two divisions. In some cases different between the different categories within this division. For example the method of judging the Bloggers’ Choice Award is different from Best Blog Design.
An additional category was added this year in recognition of bloggers who work for blog networks.
