Sorry to be blunt but, “How Embarrassing”. Frankly, entrants for the best blogs in a country should be stellar, outstanding and miles above the pack and yet unfortunately, the winners for 2011 were mostly a joke and mediocre at best. Hopefully next year there will be more viable and quality candidates. Shame, Shame, Shame!!!

Not bitter at all. Take an objective look and compare the winners to the thousands of blogs out there and you will see exactly what I mean. These awards are important and should be judged at a much higher standard. As an example wearesolesisters.com was an excellently designed and informative blog. Sorry to be a party pooper but this is a place for COMMENTS not just pollyanna.
Richard, probably you’re one of the finalists and you lost to a lesser popular blog. Probably you’ve already got millions of hits to date, good for you. But PBA is not about being popular or being stellar blog it’s about quality posts.

If you read thousands of blogs, why not care to read the eligibility and guideline page on this site. It’s on the “The Awards” tab.
Again not looking for a fight and NO I did not have a blog in the competition. Hey if your happy with these winners then good for you. I find it embarrassing. Perhaps if you put emotion aside and look objectively you might see some things. Nevertheless, good luck to you. I’m outta here. I guess we are 3rd World for a reason DIBA!!!
Richard, you said that “We are Sole Sisters” is an excellently designed and informative blog. I agree. It also won the Best Travel Blog in the 2011 PBA. So why are you saying that the 2011 winners are a “joke” and “mediocre at best”? Hindi connect ang logic.
And, by your logic, “The Professional Heckler”, which won Best Humor Blog 4th year in a row in the 2011 PBA awards, is “mediocre” and a “joke”. Are you insane? The Professional Heckler is a fabulous example of beyond excellent political Filipino satire. He should be in a book.
My point? It appears you don’t know what you are talking about. You are perfectly entitled to your own opinion; except, apparently, it has practically no merit.
Sidenote: That’s the problem with internet anonymity. People use it as a tool for pointless and thoughtless heckling and bullying.

Thank you Philippine Blog Awards for this wonderful honor! That night will go down as one of the biggest regret of my life because wasn’t able to attend the ceremony and receive my award (read invitation email 2 days late). Is there any way that I could watch a complete recording of the event and maybe claim the wooden carabao trophy?

It’s like one particular actor winning the academy award four year in a row. Certainly would diminish the value and perception of the award itself don’t you think. There should be many on the level of Sole and Heckler competing

Hello,
i just wanted to say greeting from the San Francisco Bay Area. It was an honor to represent the Pinoy blogging community from the States in the Filipiniana category. I believe what makes blogging great, is that you can find something that interests you no matter what your tastes are. For once, people are not judged on looks, beliefs, style, status etc…you can say whatever you want, whenever you want. Sure, I believe that there should be more quality blogs out there, but who is to judge? As far as polished looking professional blogs….well, anyone can buy a template and have a great looking site. It boils down to content and being original. Thinking outside the box and finding your voice.
Would I have liked the award? I don’t know. I think knowing that I was a finalist and had the chance of winning will push me even harder this year. Write more stories about my adventures of being Filipino living in the US, and promoting our cuisine.

I am really enjoying the theme/design of your blog. Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility problems? A few of my blog audience have complained about my blog not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any recommendations to help fix this issue?
