The Philippine Blog Awards and RockEd are working together on a focused drive for the victims of typhoon Ondoy.
Bloggers and attendees are requested to bring collected dry clothing, towels, blankets and shoes during the Philippine Blog Awards Luzon Awards Night on October 9, 2009. These donations will be collected at the lobby of the PETA-Phinma Theater before the program begins. The collected donations will be turned over to RockEd for distribution to victims of the recent typhoon.
The Philippine Blog Awards and RockEd has chosen to focus on clothing because these can be stored without risk of spoilage or destruction. They can easily be transported and distributed when needed.
The organizers of this year’s Philippine Blog Awards are encouraging the finalists, their guests, and other bloggers and guests who will attend the October 9 Awards Ceremonies to join PBA and RockEd in helping the victims of typhoon Ondoy. We are, after all, One Blogging Nation – manifested in the spirit of bayanihan.
The details for the donation drive for those attending the Visayas and the Mindanao Awards Nights will follow shortly.
