I was watching the live feed and i heard the presenter said “And the winner is…OUR VERY OWN…”
Atsaka sana it will represent the BEST in the blogging industry. Daming magagandang blogs di man lang nanominate. Opinion lang po. World peace!

A little constructive criticism from the eyes of a newbie in the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards… do click the link for my opinion and some commentaries as well.
I think that winners do deserve to be winners but sometimes the category they are in does not fit like for Professional Heckler and The Creature Lover… others are nominated for 2 categories which I believe a blog should only have one main category for nomination.
A mixed blog should be a Personal Blog or choose which category is his/her main focus.
Thanks and again congrats to all winners!

By being a finalist we are all winners… organizing an event like this is not easy. Again I am congratulating everyone… the organizers… the volunteers and also thanking all the judges…
Sometimes people who want to help and make some criticisms are seen as someone out to destroy it… well commonly that’s what people see me because I tend to give comments and some criticisms specially if I really consider myself as a part of such a community.
I am a blogger and I sure want that all of us will improve together… isang komunidad na sama-sama at nagkakatulungan.
Mabuhay ang mga bloggers!
An experience worth mentioning… the coolest blog awards and my first time of course…
.. and here is what being a finalist did to my blog… Thanks to PBA for it not for this I would not have think ways to improve my craft.
Congratulations to all the winners!

Thanks sa lahat ng nagreoply dun sa post ko about The Philippine Blog Awards 2008… it is an article aim to clarify things. A constructive criticism so that others will know how PBA works and how it is handled. Thanks po ng marami!
This guy has a point:
The Objectivity of the Philippine Blog Awards 2008
Volunteers and organizers should automatically not qualify as a finalist to ensure objectivity and credibility.
Sana mabigyan ang lahat ng pagkakataon na mabigyan ng pansin ang kanilang mga blogs… mahirap man sila o mayaman… mom man o nanay ang tawag nila sa kanilang ina… Englisero man o karaniwang Pinoy.

I disagree with Dave D’Angelo. Creature Lover talks about cats mostly. However, it doesn’t talk about “cutie-cutie” cats but stray cats. It talks about how the author helps stray cats (spaying, cleaning, medicating, etc.). Stray cats (and dogs) and how they are neglected by our society is in fact a SOCIAL ISSUE.
As described by the PBA, the Best Commentary Division focuses on a variety of topics from Social, Political, Historical and even Scientific posts.
“Commentary” posts need not be negative (complaining or telling about political or social issues all the time). It can also be positive (tell funny or touching stories, etc.)
Moreover, the welfare of other animals are also discussed *lightly* in Creature Lover.
sana may education category next year.
